The preservation of Vincent Price’s legacy in both the US and the UK was a big winner at the 14th Annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards, which was announced April 14 2016 after an online vote by fans and genre professionals worldwide.
Voters named Victoria Price MONSTER KID OF THE YEAR for her tireless work preserving her late father’s legacy.
‘I have been dedicated to preserving and promoting my father’s legacy of love (and) joy,’ Victoria wrote on Facebook during the vote. ‘He was an amazing human being who deserves not only to be remembered but also to be celebrated.’
That celebration extended to London where she and Vincent Price Legacy UK curator, Peter Fuller, won BEST FAN EVENT for the first-ever Vincent Price London Legacy Tour, a sold-out five-day celebration of the iconic actor’s passion for the arts and gourmet cooking, which also included visits to some of the real-life locations used in Vincent’s UK-produced chillers, Theatre of Blood, Cry of the Banshee and Witchfinder General. Fuller was also named INTERNATIONAL FAN OF THE YEAR for his efforts.
The Rondo Awards, named after Rondo Hatton, an obscure B-movie villain of the 1940s, honors the best in classic horror research, creativity and film preservation.
